As my parents get older, we’ve been having more and more talks about their living arrangements. They’re both in their early seventies now, and are relatively healthy. While they still live on their own, we all know this setup won’t last much longer. They simply live too far out of town and have to go through quite a bit of hassle to acquire even the most basic supplies, such as groceries. I’m the kind of person whose moods can be significantly affected by the surrounding environment. For instance, if the weather is cloudy and dreary, then I’m likely to be a bit more down than usual. However, if it’s a bright, sunny, pleasant day, my mood will often reflect that. It’s not something that I consciously do; it just happens. And I can be affected by interior surroundings as well.
