With all the money that you have spent on the hotel room and airplane tickets, you might be wondering if it is still possible at all to enjoy your family holiday, especially when the budget for everyday expenses while on travel is tight. Actually, you do not have to worry about this because there are ways that you can still have fun without spending too much. Forget the packaged tours that herd off everyone to tired sights overrun by hordes of other tourists. Instead, try out having a picnic at the nearest park, have a cheap beach holiday, and catch some exhibits at the museum.

If there is a park at the place you’re visiting, then plan a whole day picnic over there. Get some food supplies at the supermarket that can be easily prepared at your hotel room’s tiny kitchen. It does not have to be fancy, as long as it will keep everyone full and content. Don’t forget to bring some toys for the kids to have some fun things to do during your impromptu picnic.

When your family is vacationing near the beach, then a lot of your worries on how to keep the kids entertained are solved. A day at the beach spent making sand castles, swimming, surfing, or just frolicking in the sand is always a hit with the kids. Just keep a watchful eye on them all the time to be sure they’re safe. Also, make sure that you’ve brought enough water to prevent dehydration and sunscreen to prevent sunburn.

With all the interesting things that one can find inside a museum, you don’t have to worry about how to keep the kids occupied after they ask for a change from having picnics or staying at the beach. Most of the time, museums don’t charge entrance fees. If they do, it would be just a minimal charge for adults and free entrance for the kids. The exhibits, artifacts, and other collections in a museum will surely be the topic of the kids’ conversation for a long time.

When you go bring your family to a new place for vacation, sometimes you don’t have to do the usual touristy stuff to make them happy. With just a little creativity, you can make up a family holiday that they will enjoy and remember. Picnics, beaches, and museums are exciting things and places that the kids will enjoy.

Lightweight luggage is a must-have for anyone who needs to travel frequently. Dresses and other indispensables will generally weigh enough as it is, so there is little point to add to that by carrying around an old-fashion, heavy suitcase, thereby adding to your woes. Nowadays, those looking for lightweight luggage have many options open, too. One can find them at online retail sites or in local department shops and they also come in different price ranges to suit specific budget options.

Coleman, for example, offers good lightweight luggage sets, starting from two pieces and extending to as much as five. They are easily found in any big departmental stores, too. There is the two-piece set from Coleman called Coleman Renegade which is highly popular among the travelers. It consists of one carry-on container and one larger bag and is the perfect set for traveling light. Both these wheeled pieces can be heavily packed and are capable to endure rugged use as they come equipped with compression-molded polyethylene foam. Coleman offers a two-piece non-foam set too, and it costs almost half of the foam one. This set enjoys good customer reviews, too. Both of these sets are available in Coleman red and black colors, with plaid attached inside them.

Another good option is to go for the Olympia Liberty lightweight luggage set. Just like the Coleman, this set comes in black and red, too, and the set costs less than the Coleman one. The set comprises of one wheeled bag and one carry-on. Prepared from heavy duty polyester, the set is ideal for frequent and rugged use. The elegant look of the set is also a definite plus.

Traveler’s Choice Rome set would be yet another good choice. This two-piece set is called a ‘spinner’ as each bag comes equipped with rollers and casters. Unlike the other sets, this one comes in a metallic design and in two colours- Royal Black and Silver Gray. The price is a bit on the up side, but the set is better reviewed by users, too.

Each one of these sets detailed above would be a nice choice for ones looking for light travel. Zero in on one based on your budget and your aesthetic bent.

Alicante Spain is popularized because of the tourism industry and it has many towns and cities which fall under the tourism umbrella. The Costa Blanca area has been the main reason for this booming tourism with many great cities such as Alicante city itself and Benidorm. However, Aspe town –which is inland – has also invited and influx of tourists despite its great difference with the other towns that lie along the Costa Blanca waters. This difference can be traced to the different surroundings that Aspe, a municipality of Alicante, offers its guests.

Aspe is very near Alicante province and although nearer to Alicante International Airport, the place can be accessed also through two other airports – the Murcia Airport in the south and the Valencia Airport in the north. Coming from Alicante, you will arrive in this town in less than an hour travel.

Aspe has never been urbanized like its neighboring coastline towns. The fishing village of Benidorm has lost its village façade and instead is a highly industrialized city, equated to Manhattan. The high rise hotels made a landmark to the distinguishing characteristic of the town. As with Aspe, the town has retained its serene surrounding and has maintained its agricultural classification. Despite the presence of tourists, Aspe remains to be the inland home of the old Spaniards.

Although there may be some hotels in Aspe, the number and structure of the hotels in Aspe is beyond compare to the hotels of Benidorm and Altea. If there is a kind of accommodation that can be better appreciated, it is in Aspe. These rooms are not hotel rooms – these are villas. Because there was no extensive property development, not too much hotels rose in the area; instead many single detached homes in the form of chalets are being offered for sale.

Aspe has been identified with grapes – the kind that everyone eats on New Year’s Day. If a guest comes to this place in the months of October to December, the bagged grapes in the widespread vineyards form a different kind of view. A great part of Aspe has been planted with grapes and thus the best wines come from this place. If hotels are to Benidorm, vineyards are to Aspe. This sets this town different from its highly urbanized neighbors.

Night life and frenzy discos are characteristics of Benidorm. This greatly contrasted Aspe’s quiet and tranquil surroundings. This is another reason for some guests’ choice of Aspe – the restful vacation that they can savor. And should a guest decide to go to the beach, it would be an easy travel to the “playas” of Benidorm, and even to a taste of Benidorm night life.

A common denominator among all the towns of Alicante is the celebration of the Moors and Christians festivals. Aspe holds this same feast – commemorating the resurrection of the Christians over the Arabs.

The difference of Aspe to the other towns is not really very much – just a choice between high tumult of activities contra a hushed days of retreat. And this characteristic of Aspe is now luring many Spaniards and Europeans to make the place their get-away destination and to some – their permanent residence.

There are lots of great things that the Costa Blanca is known for. The finest architecture in the Costa Blanca is one of them. As you take a glimpse at the beautiful buildings, you will also get to discover the creativity incorporated with them. All you have to do is figure out how you going to get here, and that’s the easy part. Just look on the Internet and you will find cheap hotels, cheap car hire Alicante, cheap hotels, and even cheap taxi fares from the airport. The Internet is actually full of deals, it’s up to you to spend a few minutes looking and checking out these deals, choosing the ones that you want. Once you’ve done this, you can sit back and relax, and check out some of the wonderful buildings throughout the Costa Blanca.

Casino, Torrevieja
One of the excellent examples of Modernist architecture is the Casino in Torrevieja. It has a fantastic carved wooden ceiling, glowing mosaic tiling and horseshoe arches.
Catedral de Santa María, Murcia
This impressive cathedral has a lovely façade filled with flamboyance and ruddy bell tower.

Churrigueresque

The undulating façade and lovely decorative are evident in this building. It is overblown with Baroque architectural style.

Círculo Industrial, Alcoi (Alcoy)
The Modernista architectural style can be seen in Circulo Industrial. It was built in 1868 and the infrastructure is noteworthy with its flowing iron work and ceramics designed in perfect details. Exhibitions and occasional concerts are held in this exquisitely created building.

Concatedral de San Nicolás de Bari, Alicante (Alacant)
This church has the most striking feature with its graceful cupola that is about 50m high. This was dedicated to the patron saint of the city.

Ex-colegiata de San Patricio, Lorca
This beautiful church is a reminder of the victories against the Arabs that commemorated on the feast day of San Patricio in 1452. The comprehensive Baroque repair began in the 18th century.

Gran Hotel, Cartagena
This hotel is the most emblematic building in the whole of Cartagena that was built in Modernista architectural style. The windows and archway were surrounded with descending stone garlands. Unfortunately, this is no longer a hotel but its excellent exteriors are still admirable to visitors.

The architecture in the Costa Blanca is no doubt the greatest tourist attraction. Your family will admire the wonderful architectural styles that can be seen in these buildings in great details. You can take pictures of these buildings for you to be able to remember the creativity of the Costa Blanca locals.

You should consider Hawaii travel packages if you are thinking of Hawaii for your next vacation. You won’t just save time in choosing your holiday, but you will also save money. Travel packages to Hawaii are available for any island of your choice, or for a number of islands, whichever you prefer.

If you haven’t visited Hawaii before, you should stick to just one island because that is the best way to experience what Hawaii has to offer. There’s not a great deal between them, but if you island hop you might miss out a lot. Those who travel between islands know the state well, and know the best times to be on each island.

In order to give you a few clues to picking from Hawaii travel packages, we will go down a short list of the different islands.

First we will look at the Big Island of Hawaii. You’ll definitely want to see the lava flows at Kilauea volcano, which you can do by helicopter or by foot. In the same day you can go snow-skiing on the slopes of Mauna Kea and bathe in the sun and warm sand on a Big Island beach. You can hike through rainforests and see rare plants and orchids, view ancient Petroglyphs or, if you are adventurous, you can try your luck catching a Marlin on a deep-sea fishing charter.

Next is Maui, which is nicknamed the ‘Valley Isle’. Here you can look at the Haleakala Crater, which is quite fascinating and makes for some fabulous pictures. The Lao valley is full of wonderful trees, and is just a very beautiful place to experience.

On Lanai, which has earned the nickname of ‘Pineapple Isle’, you need to check out the Garden of the Gods. Lanai is a smaller stop for tourists with only two resorts, but there is fine golf there and much more site seeing.

Molokai, which is the ‘Friendly Isle’, offers visitors to experience what an older Hawaii used to be like. Laid-back, no stop lights, friendly natives (which gives the island it’s nickname) and traditional ways of living is what you’ll find here.

Oahu, or ‘The Gathering Place’, has famous Waikiki Beach, big surf on the North Shore, the Polynesian Cultural Center, great shopping, night-life and dining. Oahu is home to many beaches for you to enjoy including Hanauma Bay, Kailua Beach, and Ala Moana Beach.

Lastly, the island of Kauai. This is known as the “Garden Island” because it is such a beautiful island – people who vacation here never want to leave. Mark Twain came here and named Waimea Canyon the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’. The Napali Coast boasts 1,000 foot cliffs dropping straight down to the ocean, and beaches offering the best sun and surf you will find anywhere. Superlatives are unnecessary because every word you could use would be true about this magnificent island. Were you to include only one in your Hawaiian vacation package, it must be this – but then we could say that about any of these beautiful Hawaiian islands.

Hawaiian Vacations are generally great fun and suitable for all the family. Nobody will be bored, and when deciding where to go for your next vacation, Hawaii should be high on your list. Anybody that goes on vacation to Hawaii always comes back with a smile and promising themselves another trip there. There are many reasons for visiting Hawaii: a holiday during a school break, a wedding for which Hawaii is famed, or just to get away from it all for a while. Whatever your reason, there is so much to do there that it is often difficult to know what to pack, particularly if this is your first trip to the archipelago. Here are a few tips.

Clothing: When you pack for your vacation in Hawaii you’ll need to pack a few different items of clothing. Don’t just assume that it will be hot there all the time. Take a warm top and trousers as well just in case. You should also carry a rain jacket in case of a downpour. And, of course, don’t forget swimming gear and beach sandals.

Things to do: You might wonder why you need to take things to do when you are visiting a spectacular destination like Hawaii. Well, you might decide that you want to go to the beach and just laze around reading a book. You might also get stuck indoors with bad weather and want a game to play. Kids will definitely need some activities for long car rides or other times when they might be bored.

Camera: Don’t forget your camera. This is an important item as you’ll want to take photos of all the great places you visit. You can also enjoy taking videos if you have a video camera. Also make sure you take some back up batteries, and of course more than one memory card.

Travelers Checks: These are useful for any incidental items you want to purchase, and are much safer than cash. If you take only what you want to spend, then you won’t go over your budget. Make sure you allow plenty of time before you leave to order and receive them.

Fishing: Hawaii consists of 19 islands and atolls, every one of them teaming with fish and other marine life. If there is one thing it can offer you it is plenty fishing (big fish and small fish) and plenty reef diving. You can hire fishing and diving equipment there, but most people prefer their own, so make sure that you pack your rods and other equipment, and any diving equipment you will need such as your scuba gear and wet suit, or masks and snorkels.

Obviously there will be other items you won’t want to forget to pack when going to Hawaii, so make a list to be sure you do not forget anything. Then, relax and enjoy your Hawaii vacation!

Geilo in Norway stands twenty four hundred feet high, and has one of the highest ski lifts in the world, stretching 3,887 feet. Geilo is positioned three and a half hours from the capital city, whilst having good road and rail links to the village. Set amidst amazing scenery just off the banks of Fjord, Geilo is at the heart of Norway’s “Winter Wonderland”. Maintaining its reputation as an excellent family resort, Geilo has seen visitors from Europe and beyond since early 1900s. Geilo remains unspoilt, with true Norwegian character firmly intact.

With more than just skiing facilities Geilo is home to the 4 star Highland Hotel, as well as numerous lodging houses, and the famous Holms Ski Bar. Although primarily a ski resort Geilo also offers sleigh rides, wildlife adventure tours, ski orienteering, tobogganing, snow shoe walking, dog-sledging, kite-skiing, night-skiing, snowboarding, freestyle snowboarding and much more.

Geilo’s reputation as one the worlds top skiing resorts lies mainly in its ability to cater for family vacations. With over 10,000 families visiting the slopes each year, Geilo also offers excellent tuition in packages it refers to as the “Family Starter Pack”. This involves tuition for your entire family for the equivalent of $200 a day. This means, that not only can your whole family learn together, but is also means that families with no skiing experience, can go along and after the first day, they will be able to ski on their own.

Geilo has also increased its reputation amongst Snowboarders in recent years beating off Lillehammer, Voss and Hemsedal in its bid to host the Norwegian Snowboarding Championship. With four sides of mountain each dedicated to snowboarding and skiing, Geilo is now able to call itself Norway’s first skiing location to offer 5 runs dedicated to snowboarding. With 110 runs in total, Geilo has 14% expert allowing experienced skiers to enjoy themselves on the slopes, whilst maintaining the rest of its facilities for intermediates and beginners that account for a larger number of their yearly visitors.

Bogner Ski Jackets Geilo also offers exceptional value for money with weekly family packages starting from $1000 including accommodation, bed and breakfast. The element that stands out the most about Geilo is the way it caters for families, with crèches, family diners, and especially their Christmas bonanza which includes Santa visiting the slopes with his reindeer on Christmas day, and the time leading up to christmas. Geilo never fails to be fully booked for Christmas, with so many families choosing to bring their children along to experience Christmas within this winter wonderland.

Although Geilo offers amazing family packages, it would be unfair to say that Geilo is limited to family vacations. Geilo has hosted very serious world sporting events, as well as being the training ground of the national snowboarding and skiing teams. Geilo is available from August/September all the way through to late March and is also considering investing in “Avalanche Technology” which generates snow from water to provide 24/365 skiing. If you have never been to Geilo then I would recommend that you give it a go, although the family image may put certain people off visiting the slope I would suggest that checking it out is the best thing to do. From their website it is clear to see that consistent snowfall, and a good variation in the difficulty of runs, Geilo is a facility that can genuinely cater for everyone; from beginner to professional.

Womens Ski Jackets It has many great options for accommodation, and with good travel links as well their really is no excuse for not hoping on a plane and going to Geilo today. With thousands of people on the slopes, from different countries and different backgrounds Geilo is suitable for families and teenagers alike. With individual price plans starting from $350 a week, and well-known DJs playing at local club venues Geilo is also becoming very popular amongst those teenagers who would have previously seen Ibiza as the only place to be seen on holiday.
