A strap or a chord worn around the neck to hold your ID or keys or a whistle is known as a lanyard. Lanyards are used indifferent places like businesses, hospitals, events, schools and other functions or activities. They are also used as tools for advertisement. You can print your logo or name of your company on them. They will be seen by numerous people in a faster way. Beaded lanyards are worn as a fashion accessory.

These are found in different types, styles and colors. They also use a ring at one end to hold the specific items. The straps of the lanyard are made of nylon, cotton or even polyester. Since the chord lanyard lacks a flat surface nothing can be printed on it. Hence it is less expensive also. Most commonly used ones are the strap-type lanyards.

You can use these to promote your business by printing your company logo or name. Printing is generally done using three different methods. Screen printing, hot stamping or dye sublimation. For hot stamping, a metal plate with the necessary design is heated and placed over a color film on the strap lanyards. It uses only one color and so is very economical. This method is mostly used for making trade show badges, reunions and badges for school children.

Screen printing is of better quality and durable. The artwork to be printed is made into a mesh screen which is placed on the strap. Color ink is applied creating a design through the mesh. For a high resolution image it is cured with heat. The most effective process is the dye sublimation which can be done with multicolor to provide high quality designs. Using this method the images are smooth and are less prone to fading.
