Choosing activities for toddlers can be quite confusing for parents since it is hard to tell what is suitable for their age. There are many available ideas on activities for toddlers that include games, fun, exercises, printable and crafts. All kids love to play and there is an endless list of games that they can indulge in. these games include hidden treasures, the balancing act, clothes swap and the shake it game among others.  In hidden treasures, you are required to hide little gifts in bags and make your kid find them. The balancing act involves placing objects on top of each other and allowing your kid to imitate the same.

Clothes swap is an interesting activity for toddlers whereby you collect clothes of different sizes and put them in a basket. You then take turns with your kid to fit them on and this is ideal when teaching them about size. Kids love to dress up and this amuses them thus making it a favorite activity for them. In the shake-it game, you are required to fill up some containers with his small toys and then shake them to produce sound. You can also ask your kid to identify which container has his toys and this will at times prompt them to shake to find out.

Kids enjoy painting and this makes arts and crafts an entertaining part among the activities for toddlers. You can teach your toddler to make handprint cards for her friends and family members. This will involve the use of kid paints and most preferably water colors. Help them mix the colors and then make a hand print on a plain cardstock paper. Once the hand print is dry, help them insert words like “thank you” or “Congrats” and then leave a space for them to sign. These prints will definitely be appreciated by her friends and relatives.

Fun activities for toddlers include see-saw balancing whereby you sit with your kid on the floor facing each other and then practice leaning forward to make seesaw movements. You can add more fun to this by introducing scarves and continue laughing the afternoon away as you rock back and forth. Accompanying this fun with a simple song is highly recommended for greater enjoyment. Balloon fun is another enjoyable activity whereby you inflate several balloons, tie them with a string and suspend them at a height where your kid can reach them comfortably. Guide him to hit the gently and this will cause him so much excitement.

Music is another of the activities for toddlers ‘row row your boat’ being a favorite. All you need to do is sit on the floor with your child sitting towards you. Initiate a rocking motion as you sing ‘row row your boat’. This will not only be entertaining but also a chance for your kid to learn the song. The jingle bell roller is another fascinating activity whereby you use an empty coffee can as a roller. Fill it up with bells and then decorate it on the outside with picture cut outs. This can be shaken or rolled on the floor.
