How To Reduce Anxiety Painlessly

The term anxiety conjures up all sorts of images. You may imagine a seriously stressed out businessman who has paperwork coming out of his ears and a mobile phone permanently stuck to his ear which he seems to be shouting down every other breath. You may imagine a mother of a poorly baby, tantrum riddled toddler and a stroppy teenager, all of which have decided they want something different for dinner and refuse to share the TV remote. Very few people actually imagine a normal person, carrying on with their every day lives and appear fine until they are faced with something that causes them to sweat, have palpitations and can’t breathe. Anxiety attacks can happen to anyone and its not a case of letting your fear get the better of you. It really is a case that your brain just takes over control of your body and creates an anxiety attack. So how do we reduce this? Well read on.

Knowing how to reduce anxiety is quite difficult if you don’t know whats causing it. In the case of the business man, he needs to learn to delegate and handle his stress a bit better. This will give him time to look at the problems he faces at work and tackle them in a different way rather than spend the day becoming more and more stressed and not seeing a way out of it. In the case of the mother, simply taking an hour out for herself and calming down so that the stress doesn’t get too much for her will help enormously. In the case of the normal person who is plagued with anxiety attacks, the story is a bit more complex.

In order to help with anxiety attacks, you first need to work out what your trigger is. What is it that sends you over the edge? What gets your heart racing and your throat tighten whenever it crops up? IT could be something as simple as not knowing where the nearest toilet is or not being in control of a car. The physical symptoms of anxiety can appear at anytime so try to keep a diary of what you were doing at the time of these symptoms and see if there is a pattern. Once you know the trigger, you can start to change your lifestyle so you can avoid this situation. If you feel the need for counseling to help tackle the problem head on then that’s even better.
