Why a Fishing Chair is Better Than a Rock

As a frequent visitor to  my local riverbanks, I have come to realize something.  Sitting on rocks and tree stumps gets old in a hurry.  The discomfort of making this special type of bond with nature usually does not become apparent until you have been sitting there for about half an hour  or so.  Around that point, thoughts of bringing a chair along on the next trip start to filter into one’s consciousness.  It was after a recent expedition like this that I began researching and discovered that someone had been thinking along the same lines that I had.  There actually exists such a thing as a fishing chair.

After suffering through the discomfort of planting one’s hindquarters upon a misshapen rock, the comforting canvas of a fishing chair is sheer bliss.  These chairs can actually be made from a variety of materials, but they are all basically designed to give you a solid area to plant your backside while visiting the shoreline.  For those who still want to feel as though they are “roughing it”, bare bones models can be purchased that act like a standard collapsible chair.  Going for one of these models however, forces you to miss out on some of the wonderful accessories available in the more premium designs.

Those looking for an interesting gift, need look no further.  These chairs make fine presents for men or women who enjoy being outdoors.  The deluxe models have features that might have them wanting to use them in their own living room.  They might have to get creative to find a use for the fishing rod holders, but the built in cooler that some models have could come in handy anywhere that a person might want to be able to enjoy a refreshing beverage.

If you are looking for a unique gift to give yourself or a favorite person in your life, this might be something to consider.  You will have few regrets the next time you go out to do a little angling and have your very own fishing chair with you.  It is better than a rock in so many ways.

Fishing Seat Box – Rive Sphinx 310

Probably the best thing I have ever bought, I have had it 12months now and never had a thing go wrong with it, I opted for the sphinx fishing seat box as it is the cheaper model, and I am glad I did, because this has give me the option to modify the box how I want it, I have added a 30mm winder tray and seat drawer section of an old f2 fishing seat box I got on eBay for £50 and also a 60mm deep storage section of the same box to the slide out section underneath, I don’t need a deep storage for reels etc as my rods are carried made up in the prestons hard case, the box contains everything that my old Preston 6 drawer and brilo contained and there is still room for expansion.

Cons of this box are that if you are a fishing tackle tart and want everything rive then u better have deep pockets as they are expensive, the trolley you can buy is expensive and flimsy

I bought the space shuttle trolley and its brilliant (well done Preston)
But all the other sections trays and winders are cheap compared to some other big brand names,

Overall this box is brilliant and I would recommend to anybody you don’t have to buy the more expensive range from reeve to achieve what you want,

I hope someone gets something useful out of this but please don’t slate me this is my personal review of seat boxes I have owned and used over the last ten years, and my opinion may not be what you have experienced, this is more of things to consider if you are looking to buy a new or second hand fishing seat box
